My Life in Food.

Food.  It's necessary.  It's also one of Life's purest joys, which also makes it one of Life's biggest obstacles.  You can't avoid food, and you shouldn't have to eat what doesn't taste good.  That's my philosophy on the matter.  I'd like to eat healthier, but their are a cornucopia of problems:
1.  I'm a picky eater.
2.  I don't like most veggies.
3.  I LOVE to cook the way my grandmother taught me (meaning using REAL butter and not always the healthiest of ingredients).
4.  I have a tendency to experiment in the kitchen, which can sometimes make my husband cringe, but usually turns out great.
5.  I have two young children who make MY picky eating look downright adventurous sometimes (though Phoebe, age 1 as I write this, is a pretty good eater so far and to be honest they BOTH eat more vegetables than I do).
6.  David (the wonderful, physicist husband) works really late and travels a lot, which leaves me alone with a one year old and a three year old for as much as two weeks a month, which often ends up in me ordering a few too many pizzas (my kryptonite).

So, I'm going on a journey.  A cooking journey to find out what works for me in the kitchen and what doesn't.

Should I try Once A Month Cooking?
Fill my freezer with freezer meals?
Become a fruit-i-tarian (lets face it, if I tried vegetarianism this is what it would really be)?
Eat only whole/raw/unprocessed foods?
Go Paleo?

I plan to find out!
